Kampala, Uganda, September 6, 2025 — Uganda crowned its first-ever Man of Tourism International alongside the new Miss Tourism Uganda 2025/26, in a colorful finale that celebrated culture, talent, and youth empowerment. The event, held on Friday night at the Kampala Serena Hotel, attracted hundreds of guests and reaffirmed Miss Tourism Uganda’s reputation as one of the country’s most glamorous cultural showcases.
Founded by the late Hon. Maria Mutagamba, Miss Tourism Uganda has long provided young women with a platform to promote culture and tourism. This year marked a milestone with the debut of Man of Tourism International, allowing young men to also take on ambassadorial roles in marketing Uganda’s beauty to the world. The 2025 theme, “I Am My Culture,” emphasized identity, heritage, and self-expression.
Outgoing Queen Bids Farewell
The evening began with a farewell from Atino Bianka Lucky, Miss Tourism Uganda 2024/25, widely praised as one of the most hardworking queens. She reflected on her travels across Uganda, noting that the country’s richness lies in its diversity of cultures and traditions.
Atino also highlighted her legacy project, a student debate program designed to empower young people to speak out with confidence before calling on sponsors to support youth-led initiatives in tourism.
Culture Takes the Spotlight

Contestants lit up the stage with cultural performances that mixed dance, poetry, and dramatic showcases. The Men of Tourism paid tribute to founder Maria Mutagamba, reminding the audience of her lasting legacy. Standout performances included Emmanuel Asiimwe’s artistic showcase, which later earned him the position of first runner-up.
Among the women, Karungi Bridget earned the Miss Conservation title and was named Uganda Wildlife Authority’s ambassador. Her advocacy and charisma also won her the evening’s most gifts from the audience. Akere dazzled with a cultural poem that secured her the Miss Talent title, drawing admiration from both judges and spectators.
The Crowning Moment
The night’s climax brought an unexpected twist. Despite not receiving any earlier recognition, Isaac Amuriat was crowned the 1st Man of Tourism International 2025 to roaring applause. His resilience and calm presence earned him the historic title. Asiimwe took the first runner-up spot, while Cohen Amanya finished as second runner-up.
On the women’s side, the crown of Miss Tourism Uganda 2025/26 went to Queen Nachap Cindy Kezia, whose grace and cultural pride shone throughout the competition. She was crowned by outgoing queen Atino in an emotional handover. Queen Amusolo Pauline Leizel was named first runner-up, with Queen Akele Gabriela taking second runner-up.
Rewards and Recognition

The newly crowned king and queen were awarded business class tickets to Cairo courtesy of Egypt Air, along with a luxury weekend stay at Serena Hotel Kampala. Contestants also received hampers and beauty products from sponsors such as Mega Growth, ensuring no one left empty-handed.
The night featured remarks from partners including the Uganda Tourism Board and the Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities, who praised the platform for nurturing talent, empowering youth, and positioning Uganda as a top travel destination.
Beyond the Pageant
Miss Tourism Uganda and Man of Tourism International continue to stand out as more than beauty contests. They are platforms that groom young leaders, celebrate cultural heritage, and provide opportunities for youth to contribute to the tourism industry.
As Cindy and Amuriat take on their ambassadorial roles, they carry the responsibility of showcasing Uganda’s diversity to the world. Judging by the energy and passion of the finale, the future of Uganda’s cultural tourism is in good hands.
